How to get through airport security quickly and easily

There are security check points in almost all transport terminals in the world these days. If you want to get through those checks like the frequent flyer's do, there are a few tricks that will make it easier for you and everyone around you. Think ahead, so you're not doing all of this just as you get to the head of the line.
Make sure you empty your pockets and place all coins etc in the bins provided. We all know now anything metallic will trigger the alarm so have things like belts with buckles, watches, bracelets etc ready to place in the bin or better still put in your hand baggage
Consolidate books and snacks so you won't have as many things to gather back together once you've been screened.
In the United States, you have to take your shoes off. Slip-on shoes will come off and go on faster. Zippers and laces will slow you down... have your shoes untied or unzipped before you get to the front of the line. (Take care when you put them back on that you don't trip before you're put back together!)
A very strict requirement now is the amount and type of liquids allowed through the security screening. Be careful not to get carried away in the shops Before you check in because any liquids such as perfume etc will be confiscated if it exceeds the maximum allowed per container. Please ensure your liquids and creams don't exceed 100ml and all of these liquids and creams are carried in a clear plastic bag not exceeding 1 litre. If you have medical liquids these can usually be carried outside of your bag but please ensure you do notify the officer when entering the screening area.
Have a plan when you put things into bins on the screening belt. If you put things through the screening in the right order, you'll be able to put yourself back together faster afterward. Here's a good way to do this.
If you require more than 1 bin make sure you put your shoes and coat in the first bin along with your personal bag. This ensures you can be getting ready prior to the final bin arriving.
It is more common now for people to carry laptop computers o to the plane. Take the laptop out of the carry case and put the case in the first bin so you can be ready to put the laptop back with the minimum of fuss.
Airports report that nearly all bottlenecks which cause people to be delayed clearing security are cause by people stopping to put their shoes on etc so if you need more time please ensure you move to the side where you will normally find chairs and this will speed the whole process up no end.
